Seniors are here

The seniors are back, ready for their last year of school. The first freshman class at Blue Valley Southwest that has gone through all four years at the school since it opened four years ago.

This group of seniors are pretty special since they started as freshman the year Blue Valley Southwest opened. “The best attribute of Southwest is the students and staff.” said Biology teacher Joel White.

Not only the teachers at Southwest think the school is special, but so do the seniors. Senior Sarah Spore says “I feel like we have come together as a school, we have added to the Southwest dynamic that we have been striving for since it opened.” Every year the school grows more and more in both spirit and as a community to come together like one big family.”

“This year we have a lot more school spirit, it has grown so much and the difference is huge in a good way.” said senior Kylie Norcross.

Senior Lauryn Bogseth said “Since being at Blue Valley Southwest, I have seen the school pride grow each  year. When the school first opened a lot of upperclassmen didn’t want to go to Southwest because they were forced to attend because of district boundaries, now everyone is here because they want to be here.”

White shared the same feelings about the first year at Southwest “The school spirit overall has been a huge change. The initial year, spirit seemed fragmented due to allegiances to other schools in Blue Valley. It has been difficult, but a very fun journey watching our school community build into such a great foundation for Southwest.”

The seniors are grateful for getting to be the first freshman class at Blue Valley Southwest.  These seniors got to be the first class to attend the first four years at the school. By doing so, they played a major role in shaping the personality of Blue Valley Southwest.
