Greyson Chance, most famous for his cover of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi,” has come a long way since the video made of him singing at his sixth-grade music festival. After becoming an instant YouTube sensation in 2010, Chance went on to record his debut single “Waiting Outside the Lines,” which was released in Oct. 2010. His debut album, “Hold on ‘Til the Night,” was released Aug. 2011, and features his most popular songs.
“Waiting Outside the Lines,” features a moving piano part and strong vocals, as well as insightful lyrics. Many a young listener will find something to relate to in this song, it is extremely moving.
“Unfriend You,” is another one of Chance’s most popular songs. It has an upbeat tempo that keeps the toes tapping, and features a blend of piano and stringed instruments. Chance’s clear vocals communicate the song effectively. This song describes the plight many teens find themselves facing; dating or befriending someone who ultimately ends up being a jerk
Chance’s appeal to all ages, because almost everyone can relate to something he has to say. Although his main audience consists of tweens and teens, adults often find them singing along as well. Chance has a gift for relating to people through his music, no matter what their age.
His upbeat, pop music is perfect for jamming out to on a long car ride, or blasting with the windows down, although that may attract a lot of stares. Chance is also the perfect music to listen to while studying. Although his songs are poppy and upbeat, the piano parts hidden within are extremely relaxing, and helpful in focusing on a task such as homework.
Some people may be skeptical because he is so young. Some think he’s just another Justin Bieber, but don’t listen to them. Go to the store, grab a copy of Chance’s CD, and decide for yourself
