1. Why did you transfer to Southwest?
The reason I transferred to SW is because my little brother (who is a sophomore) had to go, so it was just easier to all go to the same school. Plus, I thought it’d be fun to be the very first senior class at the school. That’s something that most people don’t get the opportunity to do.
2. What is your favorite thing about the school?
My favorite thing about SW is the spirit weeks. I love how motivated the senior class is when it comes to dressing up for spirit days. At West nobody ever really dressed up for spirit days, but here you almost look stupid if you don’t go all out for spirit days.
I also really like the staff, and teachers. They are always willing to help, and they push me to do my best all the time.
3. What has been the hardest part of being here, instead of your old school?
The hardest part about being here as opposed to West is all the friends I had to leave behind. I’ve spend all of middle school and high school with them, and now I never get to see any of them on a regular basis. I also miss the band program at West. It’s hard coming to a new school and essentially starting out with a blank slate. I’ve meet a lot of new people here, but I feel way out of the loop with all my friends at West.
4. What activities, clubs or sports are you involved in?
I am involved in band, and swimming.
5. If you could, how would you improve Southwest for next year?
First, I would fix advisory. Right now it just feels like a huge waste of time for me. My teacher doesn’t really do much with us, so we usually just sit around and do nothing. None of that is my teacher’s fault. A lot of times we don’t even get lesson plans for advisory. I just think there’s better things we could do with our time than advisory.
Also, I think that we need more support for the sports teams at southwest. Especially for the girls basketball team. I’m in pep band, and I go to every single game. Some of the girls games not a single student showed up to watch. I just think it’s sad that nobody is willing to come and support.
6. What else should I know about you?
You may see double of me in the hallway sometimes. I have a twin brother- Connor.
Next year I am going to K-State and majoring in Finance and International Business.
