I just thought it would be really neat to be a part of the first graduating class. I knew a lot of people that were transferring here, but honestly I did it on a whim. I’m glad I did though – it was a good decision. I’ve made a lot of friends here.
2. What is your favorite part of being here?
The people, definitely. The senior class is awesome. I also loved being a part of the spirit days and theme days. I definitely dressed up for all of them, and I’ve been going to the games and the tailgates.
3. What is your least favorite part of being here?
The fact that we don’t have any senior privileges! We don’t have our own parking lot or lunch area. But now that I’m here, it’s not really that big of a deal. I thought it would be bigger than it is.
4. What is the biggest difference between Southwest and the school you transferred from?
I transferred from Blue Valley Northwest, but I went to Blue Valley for my freshman and sophomore years, so I knew a lot of the people who were coming here. The biggest difference is that Northwest was so much bigger. I I like knowing people and at Northwest, you saw people you hadn’t ever seen before. I didn’t like that. Here, I don’t know everybody, but I’d like to – not really know everybody, but by name, at least.
5. What activities are you involved in at school?
I’m in KAY club and I might play soccer in the spring.
6. How would you improve Southwest for next year?
I think that the faculty should ask the students for suggestions, for planning events, like Homecoming and things like that. I also think the classes should be more separated – each class should have more individuality. At Northwest, we had a class color and class shirts.
7. What else should I know?
I really enjoy meeting new people. I’m also really thankful for the new school. Now that I’m here, I can’t imagine being anywhere else for my senior year.
