On October 11th, the first performance by the Blue Valley Southwest choir will take place in the Performance Arts Center at 7 p.m. After hours of intense preparation and focused work, the choir is ready for an audience.
“It’s been a lot of work getting everything up and running,” Choral director Susan Scheibler said. “But it’s a labor of love for me.”
The concert, featuring emotionally moving pieces such as “Fanfare for a Festival” and “Can You Hear,” includes a diverse range of music from Renaissance to Broadway and Pop. The Southwest Choir will be performing with a couple of band members under the direction of Edward Protzman as well the Pleasant Ridge Middle School Choir under the direction of MaryAnn James.
“We are looking forward to getting into our beautiful auditorium,” Scheibler said. “[And] working on final concert preparations in the next two weeks.”
