Grant Laster, Editor-in-chief
Grant is a second-year staffer for the Standard, and likes to think of himself as the musical life of room 118. He is highly involved in music, especially in his commitment as Center Drum Major for the Southwest Emerald Regiment and principal bassoonist of both the Kansas City Youth Symphony and Southwest's Symphonic Band. He is currently in the process of applying to colleges, and he would love to study Biomedical Engineering at either MIT or Stanford.
Aside from his aspirations, Grant is also a personable guy who has an unending amount of energy and random bursts of impressions of George Bush. Grant, despite his extreme lack of athleticism, loves to play soccer for fun and follow the shenanigans of the New York Knicks. His also loves to talk and think about the meaning of life, institutional inequality, and semiotics. Feel free to start a conversation with him.
