The boys varsity basketball team defeated Blue Valley Northwest on Tuesday, Jan. 26 59-44. BV Northwest was formally the top ranked 6A team in Kansas.

During the second quarter, seniors Jackson Lazzo and Jon Meyer were involved in a collision, resulting in a minor head injury for Lazzo and a technical foul for Meyer.

After a high fouling first half, the Huskies were down 13-34 and increased their defensive pressure on the Timberwolves. However, the Huskies committed multiple fouls, allowing the Timberwolves to make many free throws and stay in the head.

Although the Timberwolves’ lead decreased in the second half, they scored an additional 25 points in the third and fourth quarters.

The Timberwolves play St. Thomas Aquinas next on Tuesday, Feb. 2 at home.
