Gallery: Shawnee Mission West Cross Country Invitational
On Saturday, Oct. 10, the cross country team traveled to Shawnee Mission Park for the annual Carl Owczarzak Fall Classic meet. Varsity girls placed third out of six teams, with sophomore Madi Fritz placing and fourth and freshman Cara Ahrens placing sixth in the top ten girls. The varsity boys placed second out of eight teams, with sophomore Dylan Miller placing second and sophomore Reed Holland placing ninth in the top ten boys.
The junior varsity girls placed fifth out of seven teams. Sophomore Megan Schulfer placed seventh in the top ten girls. The junior varsity boys placed second out of eight teams. Senior Drew Havens finished third and senior Cole Nelson placed eighth in the top ten boys.
The C-team girls did not have a complete team to place out of the several teams competing in the race, but freshman Savannah Greathouse finished 11th, closely followed by freshman Rylee Greet in 12th. The C-team boys placed second out of five complete teams competing, with senior Matthew Heise placing fourth in the top ten boys. The varsity and junior varsity teams compete in the EKL Championships on Thursday, Oct. 15 at Blue Valley.
