The girls varsity tennis team opened its season with a loss Tuesday, Sept. 1. Blue Valley swept the T-wolves  in 6-0 singles and 3-0 in doubles.  

After continually practicing in mild weather, the senior varsity player Sneha Bhavanasi said she wasn’t prepared for the unusually hot day.

“It was really hot today, so it was hard to play because it has never been this hot at practice, and we were also in an eight game pro set,” Bhavanasi said.

Despite the result of the first meet, the team is looking forward to the upcoming season.

“My favorite part about the tennis team is probably getting to play with everyone and practices are really fun,” Bhavanasi said.

The varsity team takes on St. Thomas Aquinas next on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at home.
