Going down swinging, Blue Valley Southwest Girls’ Softball lost to defending league champs, Blue Valley West last night, Thurs. March 29. After losing two games to Paola, Tues. March 27, the girls came back to battle hard against BVW. Even with some sickness and injuries, the softball team managed to keep a close game, despite losing 4-7 on the first game, and 4-6 on the second. Fierce defensive plays by senior Madison Grier, sophomore Colleen Weynand, and junior Ashley Henington, kept the games close. Go out and watch the girls compete against Lansing for the first home game of the season, Tues. April 3.
