This upcoming Saturday, the varsity baseball team will be taking on the Shawnee Mission East Lancers. The boys have been practicing since March 16, and are prepared to play games.
“[I’m feeling] confident,” said junior outfielder Scott Andersen “We’ve had a good off-season and we’ve worked hard to get where we are.”
Even if it rains, the boys spend time improving their game by moving their practices indoors. They have spent their hours of practice working on improving their pitches and hitting techniques.
“Our defense is our strong suit,” said junior catcher Brady Childs “we can hit well too, but we strive on our defense.”
The game will begin at 12:00 p.m and the weather is expected to be fair. The boys will be playing on the Shawnee Mission East fields at 7500 Mission Rd. Head coach Rick Sabath has been working the boys each day to prepare them for the upcoming games this season. “I’m really looking forward to this [the game]” Anderson said.
