For anyone who has TikTok, you have probably seen or heard of the “Hear Me Out” cake where people will cut out figures or things that they think are in some way attractive, and put them on a cake. There has been a wide range of objects and characters, even people, put on these cakes.
Now of course one might think, “how crazy can these get?” Well, like anything on the internet, people took it to the next level and put out some crazy opinions. To me, a few characters are not really considered hear-me-outs because the common majority could easily see why someone would see them as “fine.” After watching many different videos, I have found many that I find agreeable and some that I think should be banned.
The top craziest “Hear Me Out” characters:
3. Tim and Moby: Many students remember Tim and Moby from BrainPOP. It has a young guy, Tim, with his friend who is an orange robot, Moby. They make educational videos and because of their role in young education, it wasn’t too surprising to see them on a few of the cakes. However, at the end of the day, Tim doesn’t have anything special to offer except for finding comfort in an orange robot that communicates through beeping, which is just sad, and for Moby, he is a robot who doesn’t look too special. In all honesty, they are probably on each other’s hear-me-out cakes.
2. Any Dora Character: You would think people wouldn’t think to go down this path but sadly many did. A variety of Dora characters were on cakes and this became very off-putting to me. Seeing Diego, Dora’s 8-year-old cousin, on a cake to me feels wrong and is something people should not even be thinking about. Also having the map and backpack Dora uses to explore is honestly insane. The map gives an extremely old man and young kid vibe at the same time which isn’t right. The backpack feels like he doesn’t get out enough even when there are 178 episodes of Dora going on the craziest adventures.
1. Gil from “Bubble Guppies”: A child. That is the reason Gil is number one. He has been on way more cakes than he should be. He is literally a preschooler and there is nothing attractive about that. Not only that, Gil is taught by a fish so that sums up everything you need to know about his intelligence and maturity level. So again, please keep kids out of this trend.
The top realest “Hear Me Out”s:
3. Doc Hudson from Cars: Now this is a good example of a “Hear Me Out” because the average person would not think of finding a car attractive, but that’s what makes it fun. Doc was a hard worker who quite literally made Lightning McQueen the incredible racer to advance the plot of the movie, and for that alone deserves a ton of respect. If Doc was a human, you can just tell he would be good-looking because of his style and voice.
2. Times New Roman: The font, yes. It’s classy and used when you want something formal for a mature piece of writing. If you really think about it, it does make sense. Times New Roman gives off the same vibes as Simon from “Alvin and The Chipmunks,” and glasses can be a good look in some cases like this one.
1. Lego Batman: If you couldn’t hear me out for the other ones, you have to understand this one. Lego Batman carried the entire Lego movie franchise and his comedy assists his looks and personality in having a spot on any “Hear Me Out” cake. Who doesn’t like Batman? And the Lego characters are iconic. Most Lego series characters are very good-looking, those directors know what they’re doing. Lego Batman himself is iconic, rich, fit and mysterious; his only red flag is that he is obsessed with the Joker. Besides that, Lego Batman shouldn’t even have to be a “Hear Me Out,” with or without his mask.
Obviously, there are so many other good and crazy, some that feel a bit wrong, options, however, that can be up to you. At the end of the day, this trend has been really fun to see because while I don’t think people are truly attracted to the characters they put on the cakes, it’s funny to see everyone’s reactions and some of their reasoning.
