Do you enjoy reading Wolf Weekly? Well, you can help us make them as soon as next semester. BVSWNews is the class you’re looking for, a course full of exciting opportunities for everyone. This is a course that looks great on any college application, acts as an Art or a Tech credit, and you even get snacks.
BVSW News is an elective class where you’ll work with your classmates to inform and share your opinions with the whole school. You’ll write and design your own stories, working with each other to make it the best it can be. But for me, the class is more than just design, photos, and writing, but the experience I get every week. I get to work with my classmates every week to make everything the best it can be, and even learn new ideas and methods along the way.
Additionally, BVSWNews allows for photo opportunities. Your photos— and you can pick your assignments/get into games for free— can be posted to this account, uploaded to our website bvswnews.com and/or featured in the yearbook. I love sharing my photos with everyone, I get to share them with my friends and family, as well as submitting them to Monthly Contests. I get to show it off to colleges when they ask me what I’ve contributed to the news program.
BVSWNews is also responsible for making the Senior Issue. This is an issue to celebrate the senior class. It highlights their accomplishments throughout high school, and displays what students are doing after graduation. I was a part of this last year, and it was a truly rewarding experience. I learned a lot about the Senior Class, and I learned a lot about working as a team. It also helped me improve my writing, working with everyone on the team on not just my pages, but everyone’s.
BVSWNews is an extremely rewarding class for those who take it, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get more involved with the school. I personally took the class to improve my writing skills, and this class has helped me so much. I’ve also learned a lot about designing an appealing page that everyone can read.
If you’re interested in joining this class, you can do so at semester— just talk to the journalism teacher, Mrs. Chushuk, and your counselor. This class could be either an art or tech credit, both are required to graduate. The prereqs are 21st Century Journalism, Digital Imaging, Graphic Design or Photography. However, you can also join us with a recommendation from your English Teacher. DM this account for further questions.
