Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and world famous pop-star Taylor Swift’s alleged relationship has taken the world by storm. Speculations of their individual motives and personal gains are all the internet can talk about, so I figured I could add to the scope of it all. Let’s get into it.
To me, this relationship just seems a little too convenient. Swift’s re-release of her album “1989” is coming out soon and Kelce has a podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, titled “New Heights.” Both have opportunities to expand their audience and fanbase dramatically through this relationship.
This being said, I am in full support of the relationship, if it is in fact real and not a publicity stunt. I am hoping my suspicions are wrong because, selfishly, Kansas City can benefit greatly from the relationship. Senior Swiftie and longtime Chiefs fan Ava Williams said she sees the positives of the relationship.
“I think we’ve already seen the benefits from Travis’s side, considering his jersey sales went up 400%,” Williams said. “Everything Kansas City-related has a big buzz around it right now — even more than when the Super Bowl happened.”
Although Kelce may be very different from Swift’s past boyfriends, the change may prove to be beneficial.
“They both want a private relationship, but not a secret and that’s exactly what Travis has given her by showing her off and showing that he is proud of her and wants to be with her, yet keeping the details and everything that goes on between them in private,” Williams said.
Although it seems a bit fishy, the #Traylor relationship has great potential. Be sure to tune into the Chiefs game against the New York Jets this Sunday as Swift is expected to make an appearance to support Kelce.
“I really hope that they do last because I think that it’s a really good relationship for both of them,” Williams said.
