Although it came out a few years ago, Angry Birds has been a hit among the “app world,” even stuffed animals and spirit wear have been made to reflect the amount of popularity the game has received. The game consists of multiple levels and you’re given a certain number of birds to kill green pigs that are usually set up in an obstacle. The birds that you use to kill the pigs do different things such as going really fast, multiplying, being a bomb and much more. After you have killed all the pigs with the birds you can move on to the next level. The thrill and special skill you need to kill a tiny, round, green pig is a very serious and can be frustrating affair to some people.
2. Draw Something
Similar to the famous Words With Friends, Draw Something allows you to find your friends and compete against them by guessing what they have drawn. You get to pick out of three things to draw, choose one and then you send it to your friend and they have to guess what it is. The game is new this year and is a good way to practice your drawing skills or even keep in touch with friends.
“Every time I want to play Draw Something I start by texting my best friend and tell her that I want to play.” junior Danielle Edwards said. “We make sure that we don’t tell each other what we drew because that would ruin the whole point of the game.”
3. Temple Run
Whenever a new obsession of a game has come about, it’s always interesting to see what makes the game so addicting. In Temple Run, you’re a safari guy running away from monkeys through a temple, sounds weird right? But this exciting rush of adrenaline when you go faster and faster dodging trees and cutting corners is what makes the game so intense.
“When I’m playing Temple Run I always have a competition with my friends.” senior George Moolekran said. “You get a score of how long you lasted at the end and I always want to beat my record and my friends.”
4.Solitaire
Yes, Solitaire is still one of the top games to play, whether you are on a computer or your Iphone the electronic card game gets your mind going! Everyone has played solitaire at least once so the game is pretty self-explanatory but with it being electronic you can choose a style of cards and at the end you can have a little dance or an “auto finish” so you don’t have to manually move the cards yourself.
“I’ve played Solitaire since I was in elementary school.” senior Josh Emmons said. “Now I love to play in on my sister’s ipad.” Hopefully this old school card game isn’t going out of style anytime soon because it’s an easy way to spend your time making your brain think during summer.
5. Fruit Ninja
Ever want to pretend you’re a ninja? Well, this game is especially fun because we have slicing fruit! Apples, watermelon, strawberries, kiwi you name it. Fruit Ninja isn’t as popular as some of the others but it’s still fun to play and just a little activity for your fingers to do.
“Fruit ninja was one of my first favorite apps.” Becker said. “I still play it sometimes.” Fruit Ninja is a different game that you can pretend you are a ninja for just a few minutes during the summer.
