On Nov. 12, students have the opportunity to participate in Hoops for Hope. It will take place in the gym starting at 3:15 p.m.
Hoops for Hope is a 4v4 basketball tournament. There are two different leagues: recreational and competitive. All teams will play at least two games. The championship match will take place during the fall assembly on Nov. 14.
Teams can consist of students or staff members. During the event, teams are encouraged to dress up and the team with the best costume will win a prize. Raffles will also take place during the duration of the competition.
Each team member must pay $25 in order to participate. Then, the team captain will gather all of the money and turn it into Student Council members before school, during TIPS or after school on either Oct. 22 or Oct. 24.
The money raised will go to Children’s Mercy Hospital to help with the medical bills for children battling cancer. Anyone can make a donation or buy a shirt on the BVSW Den website. The team that raises the most money will be recognized.
