There’s a lot of new policies this school year, one of them being the late-work windows policy. Previously, it was up to each teacher if they would accept late work and how many points they would deduct, if any. This year, that’s all changed.
There are four late work windows each semester, the first one ending on Sept. 15. **For more information on dates for the windows, check teachers’ syllabi.**
If students turn in an assignment late but it falls within the late-work window, there is no point penalty. However, if they fail to turn in an assignment within the allotted window, the grade will remain a zero and won’t be changed.
While the new policy will be an adjustment, the effects will be observed by admin and staff to see if it’s succeeding in limiting students’ procrastination.
Please note that teachers will post due dates as usual. Scores will remain a zero unless students turn it in during the window.
**Students should still work with teachers if they miss class to make up assignments or tests.**
