Q&A: Carter Yancey
Q: How long have you been on the team?
A: Since freshman year.
Q: What position(s) do you play?
A: Forward or defensive mid.
Q: How much of a time commitment is it?
A: We practice five to six times a week with one to two games a week, so there isn’t a lot of time to do much else during the season.
Q: How has the team improved this year?
A: I think that we have some of the best offense we have had throughout my four years of playing, so I think that our offense has improved the most.
Q: Are there any changes this year?
A: We lost a lot of defenders last year, so we had to make a few changes with some players that didn’t think that they would be playing defense.
Q: What is the best thing that has happened this season?
A: The best thing that has happened this year was beating Blue Valley West 5-3. We have always been rivals, and it felt great to shut them down.
Q: What is your prediction for the season?
A: I believe we have a great chance at winning State. We just have to play harder than we have ever played in the post-season.
Q: What is your favorite thing about soccer?
A: My favorite thing is the fast-paced gameplay and how technical and skilled you have to be to play it.
