Nov. 16– The Prince of Wales announces the engagement of his son, Prince William, to Catherine Middleton. The royal engagement has stirred up much excitement, many looking forward to the biggest royal event in 30 years. After dating on-and-off for eight years, the two decided to tie the knot April 29 at Westminster Abbey. William, popping the question while on vacation in Kenya, presented Kate with an 18-carat sapphire and diamond engagement ring that once belonged to William’s late mother, Princess Diana. Holding great sentimental value, William believes the ring, in a way, allows his beloved mother to share in the excitement of his much-popularized engagement and upcoming wedding celebration.
